They therefore sense for themselves when they need charcoal to support their digestion. Charcoal binds harmful substances, helping to neutralise and subsequently eliminate them. It also absorbs moisture effectively, helping to reduce the risk of diarrhoea. It is recommended to temporarily remove the charcoal during vitamin or medication treatments, as it may also neutralise vitamins and the active ingredients in medicines.
